@jacobchristensen Do a
traceroute and see who Facebook.com (plus that cdn-domain of
theirs) are peering with towards your provider's international
peering partner) @carlplage you do the same, and
you'll be able to get a better picture of the "ups and downs" of
basically any site.
@carlplage It surely
matters. It depends on who your ISP is peering for you to reach the
pages you want to visit.
Speaking about the UK, I've been reading about some quite
alarming facts of the connecting hub (POP) over there. Basically,
there is only ONE central connecting point in the entire UK, and
when this connecting point is having problems (as it has been
having these later times), then ALL connecting ISPs are affected.

@jacobchristensen What's
your operating system? If windows, just go to start button ->
run - > cmd -> and the cmd-box you type in tracert www.facebook.com.
It may because I've only been vaguely curious raher than a user,
but facebook doesn't seem to be a great method of communication and
seems to be a really good way of peddling advertising and tracking
applications to the masses based on novelty applications often
disguising advertising and tracking
If www.facebook.com has
been taken out, then wouldn't all facebook requests not
redirect to http://facebook.com?
arrr....me body is tired, and my mind can't keep up

What are your ISPs? Could very likely be an uplink error at Facebook's side. I read that AT&T+Layer3 was having issues.

@hypocrisy But I cannot do anything about it. I cannot change my broadband provider because there is only 1 to choose from here.

Facebook wasn't always like that. Before that, it was tracking your friend's keg stands :)

@jacobchristensen Then bring up the terminal and write what, standard traceroute www.facebook.com ? :)

Haha! That was fun:
norrnod.se -> telia.net -> nl.bb.gin.ntt.net -> us.bb.gin.ntt.net -> us.bb.gin.ntt.net
